A collaborative piece by David Earey and Samuel Ross
‘Environmental Conditioning’ was an attempt to better understand the human condition through the engagements between the individual and the society.
Utilising both my own and David’s backgrounds and practices, we constructed this isolation chamber which was positioned in the middle of the room. Utilising the interactions of the audience as an integral part of the work, creating spatially this discourse and separation between the individual and the society. We also featured an element of David’s light installation works which was used to create this tension and separation coming from this chamber.
‘ … It made me feel more inclosed in the space and self conscious eventhough u were the one nude ..’ Lewis Hutchings audience member.
